Pull the trigger on the Asus PB279Q now? or wait until black friday?

Should I go ahead and pull the trigger and order the monitor from best buy now? I've been eyeing it for a while now. It's $549 at the moment.

Or should I wait until black friday/cyber monday?

From my experience, the stuff you WANT won't actually go on sale. The past few years I've held out for one specific thing and it didn't go on sale, but I ended up buying it anyway. The biggest bummer is that everyone will have sales on main components and then hike up prices on other peripherals (Corsair H series went up $10-20 last BF/CM). I would say to go ahead and pick it up and be happy now.

True. I've been watching the Samsung S27B970D recently. Apparently it's more expensive than the newest release (s27b971). I'm hoping it drops down in value as I like glossy. It's discontinued on newegg though. I don't want to fork over the full 1k for this monitor and would be fine with $799. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'd wait, you're this close to the biggest 'potential' sale of the entire year.
Self control is hard, but it could pay off.
You know what you want, so just wait a couple weeks and see if it gets cheaper!
I rarely ever see brands like NEC and Eizio go on sale, but Asus monitors on the other hand are prone to sales!

Whatever you choose, I wish you luck!

definitely sucks, but I too would wait. at worst you will pay the same price in a few weeks

True. I pulled the trigger and bought both the ASUS PB278Q and the Samsung s27b970d. I was surprised to find out that the Asus was a lot more to my liking, and about $600 cheaper than the samsung. Even after calibrating the Samsung, it gave me headaches and annihilated my eyes. I'll be returning both unfortunately though, and waiting for black friday/cyber monday.
