Article gets posted about Mantle, and it turns into a "Gsync is better" argument.
What gets me excited about this is the budget sector. Now that amd APU's have GCN arcitecture, the possibility of budget gaming is becoming more real than ever! This is something that all pc gamers should be excited about, this whole Nvidia Vs Amd feud is becoming detrimental to our community. If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, you would realize we are all on the same team!
PC's always have the bad reputation for being expensive compared to consoles. If this API gets widespread adoption and actually works as intended, we could see decent budget gaming PC's built from low end cards or APUs, making our platform more accessible to those who were previously turned off by the price. Thus, increasing our market share and all the goodies that come along with that
I like this quote from the article, it sounds like PR but you know that its a true statement. From Chris Roberts, "Mantle is vitally important for a game like Star Citizen, which is being designed with the need for massive GPU horsepower. With Mantle, our team can spend more time achieving our perfect artistic vision, and less time worrying about whether or not today's gaming hardware will be ready to deliver it."
