Well, regarding the ASUS, that brand didn't arrive here yet, but it will, but it usually is more expensive than the competition, that's why I'm not considering to buy it.
But I'll wait till I see some new models. Yeah, I also heard that the Toxic model is one of the bests... I think is going to arrive here in the following weeks so I probably pick that one.

Thanks for all your answers smile.gif.

Vapor-X

Among Pros:
It has a great cooler [need good computer case airflow], and it uses Black Diamond chokes. Also, it has a metal back plate for cooling, but mostly for card strength.

Con:

It is just over 1.77 inches thick. Measure distances between daughter cards being used [PCI / PCIe slots] to make sure you have room for what you are using in addition to the video card.

Sorry for not coming around this thread... this isn't my main forum after all...
Well, the TOXIC model just arrived and is pretty cheap... I think I'll go for it... I just sold both of my 6950s, and I only had to get a little some more cash to go and get it.

But TBH, I'm between ASUS and TOXIC... if the price difference is too high, I'll go for Sapphire.

the asus dcii top is the quietest of the lot. sapphire toxic is louder but comes with higher out of the box performance.

The batch of ASUS cards is yet to arrive here... I think it will near the end of this month or a little bit before Holidays.
But the first one to be available will be the DCII. As for my experience with ASUS regarding price, they are more expensive than the competence... I'm going to talk with a friend who used to sell hardware and ask him why is that.

Regarding the Toxic... I find strange those extra 50W of consumption... Is kinda weird, because the fans it uses doesn't suck 50W, not a chance!! But also, it uses the "best" or the biggest cooler between all the 280X and that doesn't translate in cooling power neither, since the temps are marginally better or equal than an ASUS or MSI with their aftermarket coolers (DC and Twin Frozr)...
My question is: Why the Toxic does it need this extra 50W?

I thought about it... maybe it needs such a power draw to maintain the OC stable....
