New Policy for Humble Bundle means that you can't give away your spare steam key

Q:Why the change?A:The new Steam key redemption process will make it even easier to quickly redeem your games on Steam! One click and the games will appear instantly in your library!Q:Why do I have to link my Steam account?A:We created the account linking to make it easy for you to access your steam games. We don't store your username or password when you sign into Steam from the download page. The connection we make will only grant access for Humble to redeem Steam keys on your account. To remove the connection after redeeming your purchases, you can click unlink your account right from the same download page where you linked them in the first place.

Q:How do I redeem my Steam keys?A:When you click on a Steam key for the first time you will be walked through a process of linking your Steam account to your Humble Bundle account or download page. Once you have completed this process you will never have to do it again! When you click on the button for your Steam key, the game will automatically be redeemed to your account with just one click!

Sorry, am I misunderstanding things here, you can gift /give humble bundles, even by game. Or Am I missing the point somewhere.

EG: i get a humble bundle, I have one of the games on it, I can give it away. (gift it)

You can gift games away. It appears a a gift link.

You can only gift the entire bundle, Humble Bundle's ToS prevent you from gifting single games, unless something has changed in the last few months.

This new way of activating keys helps prevent prevent people gifting single keys.

The reason for the no gifting single is simply so HB can continue to operate, ie they want people to buy whole bundles to give away rather than one bundle and gave away games they don't want. more bundles sold equals more money for charity, more money for the publisher and more money for HB (depending on how people split the payment). The more successful HB appears to be (which is judged on both average payment and bundles sold) the more publishers are willing to join up.

Nope, can still gift single games, just about to put up a few freebies out of my bundle.

If you look on the right side you see a little gift box. Click on that and you can gift that game and it will be removed from your page. So yes you can give away your spare games. And it is very easy to do.

Yes that is correct there is a little gift icon on the right side of the Steam key redemption box click on that and you can gift the game to a friend/family. What you can't do is sell the key because you do not see the key anymore. Personally it is much better this way and way faster getting the game added to Steam one click and it is ready to install.

I didn't have a few of the games, I stuck down $25 between all the parties, got the games and I seen the gift boxes beside the link....then I happened to read this post.
After reading the OP again and again I couldn't understand what the OP was saying, hence the question.

PS being in the UK the exchange rate made this a no brainer. (feel cheeky not dropping another $5, ah well next time)

You can get the bundle for $1, so not being able to split the games up wouldn't be a big deal in my mind... sounds like this is just making it harder to sell the keys though, which is even harder to complain about.

That would anger me, selling the keys, its a charity, but now its just a link, saying gift etc so selling that would anger the buyer as well smile.gif

I will use this service again, ( even $25 for said games is a bargain) those that try to twist charitable organizations for their own ends sicken me, I got a great...no a phenomenal deal and I feel like I have given, it makes me feel good.
