According to the many professional companies that make, sell, and test acrylic, ethylene glycol even at full strength (despite the non-prefered chemical alcohol name) is compatible with acrylic and has no mechanical effect on acrylic.

If your acrylic cracked with ethylene glycol then you should call all the companies below that have been testing acrylic for decades and tell them they all are wrong. I have cracked acrylic myself in testing old reservoirs with alcohol, they crack immediately. But I could not get my acrylic res to crack with EG, nor could any of the companies that make and sell acrylic.

Yeah that's what our acrylic suppliers (one of the largest manufacturers of acrylic products in the world) said too, until we showed them our proof that E.G. cracks up their acrylic in seconds. They initially said they were going to do more testing to see if they could replicate it, and then never got back to us about it until we passed off all the claims that we had at the time (nearly $10,000 in claims in all) onto them and they simply paid them with no response. All of their literature still claims that their acrylic is E.G. safe, but we know that they know better. We now have added a disclaimer that we no longer will honor warranty claims for damage done to the acrylics in our products by use of alcohols including Ethylene Glycol, as have many other companies that deal in acrylics also.

Just with regard to some acrylic cracking and others not. It's pretty obvious looking at my res and my flow meter that the EG coolant needs a week spot in the containing acrylic to get a foot hold on its journey of deteriation.
In my case it was in the area around the fill port cap which had a bit of a rough finish on the acrylic from new, probably created when the threads for the fill cap where tapped.
See photo.
My flow meter was also a victim and it cracked around the 4 metal internal joining pins that secure the two halves of the flow meter.
See photo.
However my tube res (which was beautifully finished ) is acrylic and is still in perfect condition. Because the alcohol has no foot hold to get start.

So then it's a surface area perimeter then! Good facts
