Thread Starter
I'm wondering which of my i3's should i replace first that will make me the most PPD in CPU projects. I am just looking for the best PPD increase, power/price aside.

- i3-550 @ 4.6 GHz > i7-8**/Xeon x34** @ 4.1-4.4 GHz
- i3-3220 @ 3.3 GHz > i7 3770k @ 4.4-4.8 GHz

Which one should i get?

edit: are you undecided between the 3770K and a first gen i7 quad?

Ivy is faster, overclocks better and is more power efficient than nehalem. So i think its your best choice.
