Nothing amuses me more than a bunch of nerds getting worked up over video cards. lachen.gif

Yes, it will throttle after some time. No wonder, 47% is lower than 290x's 'uber' mode

So it's definitely faster than 780 clock4clock

That's the whole point, the 290 only starts throttling after the bench is done... Or if it does it before that the throttling is so minor compared to the other cards that it hardly matters at all.

The 290X, 780 and Titan throttle much, much faster and more aggressively. Putting them in a disadvantage when it comes to reviews.

Reading thru this thread made me lol. At this point AMD could produce the fastest card ever and the Nvidia group would find something to complain about.

When AMD offered their gaming bundle all everyone said was "now they have to include games to sell their cards". Now all of a sudden now that Nvidia is doing it "it's a good deal".

The cards are loud no doubt but that's what water blocks are made for.

he has a point

everytime amd does something, there are always bashing amd, and when nvidia do the same it's like a godsend for them.

'why dont you just get the more expensive card', maybe because not all of us can fork out the cash to buy these cards, in my country, the pricing of a 760 is VERY similar to a r280x. So this pretty much gives you a question, would you pick a +-7950 or a 7970ghz

We both know that 780 works @ higher clocks:

290 is probably 5-10% faster c4c

It goes both ways. The GTX 480 was an affront to humanity, but for the 290X everyone will just put it on water. GPU Boost was Nvidia cheating reviews, but Powertune is perfectly acceptable. Titan throttling was a total failure, but 290X throttling just means you need to run the fan louder.

Relax, there must be some Nvidia biased sites, (reviews) its normal. People still cant understand a simple things. When someone release products performing so well, for such a low price, you just cant complain, even if its loud or hot, some noobs will say but you whined about GTX480!? ofc we did, but 480 was only like 5-10% faster then 5870, while being more expensive, instead of being HUGE 150$ cheaper, and with 1GB more vram! this is the difference!
