That's probably why for a long time, the 770 was 400$ and 7970 was 300$, but Nvidia did not still see a need to drop prices until now. So you get my point now?

Plus I don't think a Dual slot cooler could properly cool this. You'd likely need an ASUS triple slot cooler with 100mm fans (PLUS Cooltech fan on the rear ala GTX 780 / R9 280X) and 10mm +8mm heatpipes. Sapphire R9 280X TOXIC = two 100mm and center 70mm , 10mm+8mm heatpipes. The MK-26 has 2x 140mm , that's still more fan area than the Accelero Xtreme iII (3x92mm).
