i play games like css, watch movies, download stuff and chat on msn, and sometimes do some audio editing

Okay, then I would suggest these core components.

CPU: Core 2 Duo 6300
RAM: 2 Gig DDR667
Vid Card: Nvidia 7900GT
PSU: Respectable brand (Antec, PC P&C, etc) over 500W
Hard Drive: Seagate 7200.10 Perpendicular Storage whatever size you want
Case: Whatever looks cool for you
Monitor: Widescreen, something around 20", 8ms or below response time
Sound card (for audio stuff): Creative Audigy 2 ZS or X-Fi

try places like www.ncix.com and www.memoryexpress.com I'm not sure but I think those are some of the best places to shop at in Canada

and that would be 1600$ or lower? and which mother board? why di u say the intel vs the amd?
If you're going to do video editing, you may want to opt for an ATi card instead, they tend to offer better performance. Also, the x1900xt beats the 7900GT in most games, so switching those two cards would be a wise choice. You'll want to look into an X-Fi card for your editing as well, and with prices very reasonable now, there isn't a reason not to get the card. Everything else in the build is very solid and would give you plenty of performance.

For those who would like to help the build, 1600 CAD is around 1375 USD.

Edit\\\\ How much OCing are you planning on doing? That will help with the mobo decision. A very solid mobo though is the ASUS P5B Deluxe. You can't go wrong with that baby.

Edit2\\\\ One more thing, what exactly do you need? Do you only need the system or do you need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, ect ect. Tell us what you have, and will recommend parts for everything else.

i only need the computer... i plan on doing some ocing but nothing crazy, so... sugestions for all the parts?

Frankly, unless you have an upgradable AMD system to keep the cost down, your better of with a Conroe for the best performance in a full build.

and that cpu he reccomended is a conroe? intel now does 9 clocks per cycle like amd or what?
I think Intel does 12 ops/cycle and AMD does about 9.

This is merely a guess though. There are too many states for a processor to be in to acutally have a set number of ops/cycle. Example: Conroe can take theoretically 6 SSE instructions per cycle but it changes from types of instructions.
