I have a early upgrade option with my s2 and T-Mobile, which phone would you fellow members recommend galaxy nexus 5, HTC one red, blue, black, silver or max; or iPhone 5s gold, note 3
i would recommend the g2 over the nexus 5 or htc one. it's very similar to nexus 5 (same manufacturer) with a larger battery and better camera. the htc one is outdated and bulky and worse battery life (older chipset). compared to the nexus 5 or g2.
the note 3 is a niche device, for people that want multitasking features imo. the pen to me seemed most like a gimmick (keyboard input is still way faster) but the modded os has a lot of fun multitasking features. however, unless you have very large hands, it is awkward to hold in one hand. i recommend the g2 over because the display is almost as big and somehow the note 3 is thicker than the g2. also the g2 is less awkward to use in one hand and the display type is better (amoled vs ips). samsung should drop amoled and use pls displays imo. amoled displays look so artificial and fake-the colors are way off and far too vibrant. it's really a turn off and i'd much prefer the lg phablet for this reason.
the iphone is probably the best casual device if you don't do a ton of web browsing or more complicated stuff. i like how easy it is to use one-handed in vertical mode, it's convenient to read articles that way. but it has roughly half the battery life compared to the note 3 or g2 (roughly 10 hours compared to 20-25). also the iphone and note 3 have dedicated sound cards (probably the best sound quality of any smartphones right now).
i'm still trying to decide between the g2 and iphone. but i think the g2 is probably the best rounded and has the most impressive display, due to the large ips screen. i think the iphone is the best phone (if you don't have large hands) because it is the easiest to use one handed. but for web browsing and videos, the g2 is way more impressive. you really have to see the g2 in person, the display is stunning. beautiful ips with very small, non-distracting black bezels. and without all the shiny distracting stuff apple and samsung like to put on the front sides of their phones.Edited by perfectblade - 11/5/13 at 7:38am
