I definitely noticed a big jump in battery life from my s3 to my s4, but am often left with very little battery life after a long day away from the charger. Have spent time with the g2, 5s, 5c, and note 3 (I work for a major phone company in Canada and get a lot of Demos to play with) nothing comes close to the longevity of the g2 with my heavy usage. Thr s4 camera still keeps me happy, though.

My old S2 needed a charge every 3 days (moderate usage). With recent versions of MIUI, it could last an entire week. Just goes to show that hardware isn't everything.

I sometimes wish people wouldnt talk about smartphones here, they are not Desktops/Notebooks and its not about raw specs.
User experience is far more important. though i would agree with you that the G2 is a very good phone if you can ignore the horrible skin.

i bet most sites haven't updated their rankings. i don't know how anyone could say the htc one is better unless they are a total aluminum whore. it's worse in so many ways:

1. half the battery life
2. thicker and more bulky with a smaller display (due to the g2 smaller bezels and thinner body)
3. distracting, shiny silver bezels rather than black bezels
4. worse camera

i'm coming from an evo 3d and i don't understand all the rants about android skins. all i see are minor differences in animations. sure the g2 animations are more flashy, but they don't slow my usage down in any way. and with far superior battery life and overall performance (the new processor is easily able to handle these animations smoothly) i see no downside to them

Phonedog undate theirs every week or two and the One has been #1 since release. Techradar updated theirs last month.

Like I said user experience is more important than specs.

Some people like a phone that actually feels as expensive as it cost.

Il give you camera and battery.

The One has black bezels ?

Sense 5 is the first skin that asop purist prefer to stock android.

The One is phone of the year and has countless awards after the G2's release to back it up.

i don't personally find skins to alter the experience terribly. they're mostly just animations anyway. i'd say specs do matter just not the same specs as pcs. specs like screen size, weight, height, depth, camera quality, and battery life all matter.

if you're buying a phone just because it's aluminum, that seems kind of silly and superficial. especially considering that a $700 pocket device deserves a case.

i could care less what bloggers think about a phone. half the time all they do is wax poetic and use very intangibly focused language. i mean it's a phone. not some work of high art
