Your Favorite FOV setting on FPS games?

Thread Starter

In most games 75 is the default value and can go up to 110 or even 120... I found out that 90 is the sweet spot in my experience. Although values such as 110 gives me a bigger view, aiming enemies become problematic for me. What about you guys?

I prefer 90 as well, I tried >100 in bad company 2, but got that fisheye-effect, FOV lower than 80 looks too narrow.

BC2 uses vertical FOV so a value of 100 depending on your resolution is way past the normal 100 you would get from a horizontal FOV game, there are multiple calculators out there to determine the value you actually want for it.

For most games I play at 110 FOV, where possible. Most games that means maxing it out and being sad im stuck at 90 frown.gif Used to play UT/Quake at 120

Cr4zy brings up a good point, some games use vertical while others use horizontal. I usually prefer 75-80, using a normal 23" monitor and sitting about two and a half feet away from it. 90 and above look almost like a fisheye view, it's ridiculous so I never use it even if it provides an advantage.
