In the chance you get bad pixels, Amazon only allows one return before they go into "investigation" mode which means they lock down their product and spend two weeks having seventeen your olds who have no idea what they're doing going through stock, plugging monitors in and turning them on, looking for "bad" things, and if they find them, they ship them back to the manufacturer.

Furthermore, the panels are not ideal Some of the brands have recently came out with PLS and AH IPS monitors, but previously they were all S-IPS.

IMO, paying for security of knowing a company actually can offer you a decent customer service, and it's a home brand is far more worth it than buying ambiguous imported Asian panels.

The only other advantage they offered was pixel perfect guarantees, which most typical brands now have anyways, so it's nullified.

Furthermore, on the specific model you want, there are reports of heavy light bleed, and panels being shipped missing components, etc., and even the perfect pixel guarantee version has a tolerance limit of around 1 or 2 pixels.

Thanks for the information

hope I'm not hijacking the thread but seems silly to start another, but..

Has anyone got recommendations of a store that sells the screens outside of ebay? Paypal has decided to limit my account so it means I cant buy anything off there for the foreseeable future.

I contacted accessorieswhole who operates a web store, but they just want me to do a bank transfer for the price and then I email them my details. Feels a little sketchy, although it probably isnt.

Can't you just buy one from ebay and pay using your credit card anonymously? You don't actually need a PayPal login any more.

Really? I will look into that, I thought ebay and paypal had it locked down.

It's usually OK. I tend to do it when I don't want to pay for things using my paypal account balance.
