"Boutique research firm BlueFin Research Partners’s John Donovan today pours more fuel on the bonfire of the personal computer market, writing that he’s modeling a 5% decline in PC units in 2014, to 300 million, after a 10% decline to 315 million this year."
Is there hope?

It's a lot to do with the fact that computer improvements are reaching the point of diminishing returns for must consumers. People are really starting to upgrade their computers, and they will last a good amount of years, and most don't even need the 'improvements' new generation PCs bring.

True, many customers of mine don't want (need) to upgrade anymore, they are doing the job just fine.

This is just a transition. Nothing more. It's still the same set of companies involved in the whole PC, smartphone & tablet business so whatever is lost here is gained there.
