I even installed an SSD in my laptop and now everyone is rather impressed by it's speed thinking I have 16 GB of RAM or an i7 . (it has 8GB and an i3 2370M, the SSD makes up about 25% of the laptop's current worth, that's how important an SSD is to me).
I do have to disagree a bit with the "loading games are faster on an SSD" . I have a WD black which is shortstroked so it's a notch above the average HDD I suppose but it really doesn't make all that much difference when me and my brother play BF3 (he runs it from his Samsung 840 pro 256GB so definitely not a slouch amongst SSDs )
It's not so much the sequential reads (the 400 - 500 Mbps numbers really only happen in synthetic benchmarks) as it is the access time of SSDs compared to HDDs that makes them feel so snappy.

Without getting technical: the evo suffices for normal usage. But seeing as you have an IB-E you might be doing some more IO-intensive stuff. In that case, I would recommend the Pro. The Evo is very fast ... until it's cache fills up (which is 6GB IIRC). EDIT: 6GB for the 1TB and 500GB, 3GB for the lower ones.
There are other brands out there though, but I have to admit, I don't have a single complaint about Samsung, all have been rock-solid since day one.
I have the 250GB Evo in my laptop. I picked it because it's very energy-efficient and the performance is sufficient.
EDIT2: About the Magician software: it's a pretty nice piece of software but I wouldn't pick an SSD based on that. It just does some optimization settings for you (which windows normally already does for you), you can force TRIM, you can see some diagnostics. I had read up on the RAPID-mode but wasn't convinced so I disabled that. It's not a bad piece of software like Asus' AI suite but it's nothing extremely "OMG must have" either. It's just ... nice.Edited by Bloitz - 11/5/13 at 3:39pm
