8970m and in game gpu temps (msi afterburner)

So I have a 8970m (laptop i ordered from xoticpc) and I installed MSI afterburner, three different versions and I do not have the option of showing gpu temps in game. Its just not there in Settings>monitoring. I'm worried my gpu and cpu may not have thermal paste. my average cpu temps are 40-50 degrees and near 70 degrees in game. (i7 4700mq). is this normal on a laptop? How do I fix msi afterburner, what is the cause?

That's completely normal for a laptop. Especially one with a chip like that.

But my main question is why doesn't msi afterburner have an option for gpu temps?
