COD Ghosts - OCN Review / Warning

I had high hopes for this game. Everything i had read about it was getting me hyped up from the 50gb space requirement, to the new graphics engine that is 64 bit ONLY and requires 6GB of RAM TO EVEN START. I was thinking wow this game is gonna be pure graphical fidellity combined with the slick shooting of COD4. I mean this game is so intense it only runs at 720p on the NEXT GENERATION consoles, wow this must really be something, it even has dedicated servers and lean. So after i purchased it and waiting 6 hours for it to download i went in to multiplayer and

I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW,
The graphics absolutely suck - seriously
They took out Search and Destroy and replaced it with Search and Rescue
Their are no dedicated servers - they said there would be
The optimization is terrible - WITH 2 X 7950's i get fps dips in to the 10s, most of the time fps sits at 30. With crossfire disabled i then get higher fps with the same stupid dips (SNIPING IS IMPOSSIBLE, when scoped in fps dips to 5)
Oh and mouse sensitivity is some how still not fixed from MW3, this really baffles me and makes the game UNPLAYABLE
FOV Slider has been removed, seriously? BO2 had one so why have they taken it out??? - THE FOV IS LOCKED AT 65 which is terrible
The maps suck, majority are far to small and cramped and are just terrible designed
6GB Ram minimum? lol this is such a scam, the game does not even use more than 2GB in most cases. Activision most likely got in to bed with some hardware manufacturers for some extra cash on the side
The game maxes out my 3GB Vram with its amazing textures (and by amazing textures i mean lack of)

Screen shots speak 1000 words

Here is the graphical fidelity of next gen COD (Max settings with 2 x 7950s and 2500k @ 4.6)

This is by a mile the most cheated i have ever felt with a game purchase, i am legitimately not ever going to play this again, everything about this game just plain sucks and i recommend everyone to stay away from this piece of junk.

I am now going to do what i should have done originally and buy BF4, hope someone finds this review useful and does not get scammed by activision, any questions feel free to post them

Peace.

Funny thing is that the game doesn't run well with a titan, multi-card setups will give horrible microstutter on both nvidia and AMD. I don't get why this game needs 50Gb of space, whats the space for exactly?

The game lags out on the main menu because the steam messaging client is online (set it to offline to fix that), the can be fixed and turn off SLI or CrossFire for this game.

While I cannot defend COD and say that it should be as nice as BF4, I think the FPS issues you are having are related to a problem with your PC. You may want to leave it be for a few days to calm down and then troubleshoot the issue. I can't imagine COD kills CFX 7950s.

Hmmm. First of all, the game doesn't use more than about 1.5gb of vram at 1440p. What you are seeing is the ram being allocated, not used. The 6gb ram requirement is definitely bogus, though. The graphics in mp need more polishing, I agree. I thought Blops2 had better visuals in mp. I've heard that the dedicated servers aren't live yet, but are to come. There are no doubt a lot of bugs that fall on the driver teams at nvidia, and amd. I blame them just as much as iw for those problems. SLI is broken for a lot of users, but mine doesn't seem to be affected much by that.

lol right there with ya bro!

Works fine for me, I think there's lots having problems though. The only thing I'm concerned about is the lack of a FOV changer, lol

Though I'm average to terrible @ FPS games, so it probably wouldn't make a difference for me. CS:GO is more my game, and even then I'm only decent, for a casual.

EDIT: Actually, I've been having issues with getting their app to work so I join the OCN clan.... lol

Majority of people are having them, i could wait for a patch but the game is not good, not even worth waiting for.

Perhaps some sort of memory leak then, when it hits 3gb the game drops fps to single digits and stays there. It is definitely being used may be another of the many errors in the game.
Yes the 6GB is a load of crap, the graphics were meant to be NEXT GEN yet BO2 had better graphics
Seems like IW just made a crumby game to me

I feel you. I got suckered into buying Black Ops 2 last year on PC because I they said there would be dedicated servers. I even did the research to make sure. I don't think I even played more than 3 hrs of online. Beat the SP but I don't drop $60 just for a 8-10hr SP game. Worst $60 I've ever spent. mad.gif And I WON'T be suckered into buying Ghosts. I'm sorry you got screwed man.

Edit: Oh and I totally know what you're talking about with the mouse sensitivity being all messed up, just terrible.

FOV changer here fovely.zip 204k .zip file

I'm upset about the lack of proper dedicated servers and a couple of other things but it's still a bit of fun. The last few COD launches on PC have been sketchy for at-least a few weeks( Remember BLOPS1 and the random pauses/crashes?), I'm sure they'll make some improvements.

AA off and everything on high (tess at AMD default) with a 5870 & 1100t and I'm hitting the frame limiter... Might wan't to have a play with tess settings in CCC?
