What power supply wattage would you recommend for the following configuration?

AMD FX 6300 @ 4.4 Ghz / 1.45 Volts

Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard

Ram: 4x 4GB Dimms of any RAM I will get as soon as I can afford, probably corsair, I like corsair.

GPU: Going to get either a GTX 760 or 7870.

4 x Corsair AF-120mm LED Fans

Corsair H100 + 2 x Corsair SP-120mm Fans

Samsung 840 SSD

WD Caviar Black HDD

5.1 Startech Sound Card

DVD Burner

Mulit Card Reader

NZXT Sentry 2 Fan Controller

I was thinking 500W as an absolute minimum. Is that about right or am I completely wrong? Thanks for any advice smile.gif

Welcome to OCN thumb.gif

You'd be pulling around 450W with that setup. You can try out PSUCalc, too. It's a great wattage calculator made by some members on OCN.

So, like you said, a 500W psu would be good for your setup.

Thanks for you help so far and the quick replies smile.gif

Where I live I can get one of these 3 at a reasonable price, so not taking the price into consideration, which one of these would be best, and are either of them ones I should avoid?
Is it worth getting a quad rail one (EVGA 650W) that 80+ Gold or is a single 12V rail one thats 80+ bronze good enough for everyday use and gaming?

Thanks

The EVGA and Corsair are not worth buying and its not even for the same reasons

Of those 3 the OCZ ZT is what you should get

But this is all you need and its better then the ZT

Thank you very much for your help, I'll take what you said into consideration.
Oh, if you don't mind me asking, how do you know SO much about PSUs? (I looked at your profile and its just overwhelmingly full of PSU knowledge) biggrin.gif

Lots of free time and hours spent on reading and doing research

But for the most part this site helps
