780 SLI or 780 Ti?

With taxes around the corner I guess I can start planning for a future upgrade?

I'm thinking about getting another 780 gtx to sli, most likely the gigabyte wind force r2. The only issue is the current one I have is a revision 1, which has a 6 and 8 pin connector vs 8 and 8 pin on the r2 which gives it a bit more overclocking headroom. Mine can't go above ~120 core clock without it crashing and going back to defaults after a while of gaming. I mainly play Mabinogi, Red Orchestra2/RisingStorm, Skyrim(with insane textures and ENB), mine craft and several other random games.

I had thoughts about trying out the 780Ti but I'm going to assume newegg is going to price it around 700 on release which is what I have second thoughts about. I have money to spend but not needlessly burn for a very minor upgrade.

One important note is I hate selling. I lose so much from eBay/paypal and Craigslist is full of lowballers so I'm much more inclined to keep what I buy to prevent headaches. So I may just keep my r1 because of the resale value and it being the revision 1.

What's the best course of action?

If you are not in a hurry wait and see the performance and the price of the Ti. At the same time, as soon as the Ti hit the retail market, the price of the 780 will drop even more. Then you make your decision , and grab a second one for dirt cheap.

The 780ti doesnt look bad, we just need more models especially the wind force which is announced. However I see on videocardz.com that there's going to be a 785gtx in the future. Looks like a weaker titan.
But anyways the extra 500 config cores on the 780ti is so tempting...

I see gigabyte just released a GHZ version for the wind force model... so I guess its not worth it for the extra 50 MHz out of the box? Its an extra $40 unless it overclocks better?

There won't be a GTX 785, That's now going to be the GTX 790 which will be a dual GK110 card.

I have a feeling that the gtx 790 is going to be over $1000
