If both of your clocks were constant, this is a very rudamentary way of looking at it (clock -> performance isn't 100% linear) but you're essentially getting 15.271 points per 1mhz with your 290X.
Assuming his clocks were constant, he's netting 15.173 points per 1mhz on his 780 Ti (OC perf score). So the 290X would be squeezing out a little more than half a percentage more points per clock. (.6%)
This isn't a fool proof method though and won't account for outliers. At 928mhz he's getting 15.934 points per 1mhz. Either there's less return on higher clocks (very small difference) or it's just within the margin of error.
Assuming your 290X scales linearly, for you to get 15,993 points, you'd need to have a GPU clock of 1047mhz.
