This thread reminds me of the threads before Bulldozer release.
Also, the battle is already lost. GTX 780Ti already costs $150 more than 290x. Not sure why I haven't seen this mentioned once in the thread yet but if Nvidia can't handily beat Hawaii with a fully enabled GK110 die, while the GK110 is about 30% larger die, then Nvidia has some problems with Kepler.
Keep in mind, we're seeing the same performance, sometimes less, for 27% higher price. I could understand some people who must have the absolute best going for Titan. While the price to performance was horrendous you paid extra to get the best of the best.
Now Nvidia is in a position where they cost more yet all they offer is Shadowplay and PhysX, which looks paltry compared to Mantle.
I told everyone this was going to happen and you all let yourselves get worked up over it. Nvidia will be forced into a role where they must now push GK104 aggressively towards a price to performance/value market while ignoring the high end. I'm expecting a budget GK104 part to compete in the sub $250 market and for that to become Nvidia's best selling area until 20nm and Maxwell.
As for people jumping ship:
Nvidia is like Intel in where they can cover up their problems extremely well. To see why larger tech sites aren't covering people feeling Nvidia, take a look at what happened to Tweak Town. That is what happens when you anger Nvidia, so it's no wonder larger sites wouldn't speak up about it.
