I read the whole thread some time ago, but can't remember. Is the zowie AM/FK 3090 a "3500 DPI ROM", as r0ach calls it, or different?

@ r0ach. Why don't u just use zowie FK? bcs of the "harder to press" huano switches ?

I can't answer for roach, but I wouldn't be surprised if his was the same as mine:

1. Ridiculous DPI steps. I need something in the 800-900 ish area for a 1920x1080 resolution.
2. Huanos are god awful.
3. Zowie is by far one of the brands I have the worst impression of as far as support goes. They'd have to make a really good mouse for me to want to be at their mercy.
4. Low max speed. In FPS games I reach malfunction speed with it.
5. Lift off distance is way too low. Jerky movements will easily tilt the mouse slightly to the side resulting in loss of tracking.

I dont force someone to use a Zowie

But 4? You need really more than 3 m/s??
5. is for some people an advantage
1. ack
2. ack, but you can change the switches. I have some hard and soft huanos and chaning my hard ones against Omrons (10x omrons = 4 €). First I liked both, now only the soft (which I dont change)

Only talking about 3 now because the rest is obviously preference: my contact with Zowie was pretty good, had to RMA my FK because one switch started double clicking. The guy from their support was answering very quickly and there was no trouble with getting a replacement. I had to pay for return shipping, but the only manufacturer I know that doesn't do that is Logitech.

That was my plan. Removing the switches from one of my other (broken) mice and putting them on the zowie FK.

btw, someone knows if the AM's PCB fits in the FK? just in case i fail with soldering rolleyes.gif

I think they were pretty much identical. Not entirely sure though, would have to search some older posts in other threads for this.

Damn... I've recently ordered a Kana v2 that is going to be arriving this monday, but after reading this I'm actually regretting it... doh.gif

I'm a big fan of the S3668/S3888, but I could never get used to the DeathAdder's shape. I know some people actually make hybrid mice with the DA's PCB for this reason, but due to in part me being lazy and not having the tools to do it I decided to go for the Kana v2.

I know that what Roach says probably won't be an issue for most people, but man, for someone who plays fast-paced competitive FPS games pretty much exclusively like me this is probably a big deal.

Maybe it's possible to make a Kana v2 - DA 3.5G hybrid, since the Kana has pretty much the same shape as the Kinzu. That would be sweet. drool.gif

Smoothing is a load of crap if you ask me. Very picky Savu users have reported getting some of their best FPS round scores ever with that mouse. My primary mouse is the Avior 7000 which has a new school 3310 supposedly with lots of smoothing. I use it at 144 Hz on my VG248QE monitor and I notice zero latency.
