I'm a big fan of the S3668/S3888, but I could never get used to the DeathAdder's shape. I know some people actually make hybrid mice with the DA's PCB for this reason, but due to in part me being lazy and not having the tools to do it I decided to go for the Kana v2.

I know that what Roach says probably won't be an issue for most people, but man, for someone who plays fast-paced competitive FPS games pretty much exclusively like me this is probably a big deal.

Maybe it's possible to make a Kana v2 - DA 3.5G hybrid, since the Kana has pretty much the same shape as the Kinzu. That would be sweet. drool.gif

I tend to agree. The guy who started this stuff claims he can feel a difference in cursor behavior between having a single BIOS setting auto or manual to the same value, among other outlandish claims. I'm sorry but I have to call BS.

You could get your best scores with pretty much a ball mouse as far as I'm concerned... there are other factors besides sensor performance that matter when getting good scores. I mean, look at me, I was a happy camper using Razer Synapse, up until I read that Synapse was garbage... I uninstalled it and installed the legacy driver and now I have no clue how I could have thought that the mouse was performing as it should. I was still doing fine with it, though, it's just a lot easier now doing the stuff that I was doing before with Synapse installed (I really have no idea how Razer managed to screw it up so badly with Synapse).

I'm just saying IMO with my 144 Hz monitor even the tiniest imperfections are extremely visible in terms of mice and I feel nothing different between my G400 and the Rival or my Avior in terms of input latency. Let's be serious though, no one can truly tell the difference between a damn tiny bios setting... That's just ridiculous.

Call me a noob but there's no way in hell I could use 70cm/360 with a ball mouse... 100 Hz is absolutely unusable for me on top of that.

Was it HPET? If not, what? I'm curious

Actually, it is a very common phenomenon for people to be able to tell large differences in a single BIOS change.

Many of you are probably casual gamers and thus would not be able to tell a difference between most things.

However, at high-level competitive gaming, people definitely notice these kinds of things.

It also might depend on the game you are playing. CS 1.6 (one of the top competitive esports games of all time) was notoriously sensitive to hardware and software changes.

DPC latency checker is a program you can use that will show you visual data of what some people might feel. BIOS settings absolutely effect DPC latency.

And even popular "gaming" mice like the mx518 have inferior sensors than other mice like the IE 3.0. The 518 is less accurate and thus forces most players to use extremely low sensitivities.

If you have never used an accurate mouse like a 3.0 and are thus only comparing one terrible sensor to another, then of course you will not be able to tell a difference.

I value the opinions of people like r0ach, but at the end of the day I will need to test it all myself. In a month or so I plan on buying some of these new mice to test how they fair against the MLT04.
