[MMOC] WoW Down to 7.6 Million Subscribers - Page 11

We just went back after being away for a year or two. Nothing compares to WoW hands down. There is a certain vibe to the game. It could also be that for many this was the first in a long line of MMOs and nostalgia plays a big part.

My biggest complaint is that their player data base must be fully compromised. As soon as we turned off our authenticator code about a year ago, the account was fully hacked. Or they have a real issue in house with gold selling. The only reason we turned it off was that we bought one of the originals and it actually died:) Then again this is all just congecture on my part .

Never used the auth, never been hacked.

I was hacked twice before getting the authenticator. Thank goodness it has not happened again! I was also really lucky the hackers only deleted one of my toons.

Dang, I made the mistake of watching the latest Blizzcon WoW updates on youtube...MOP looks pretty good and Draenor raids look good too. The fact that they are/have incorporated the flexible raiding and lockouts are awesome...if I'm correct in my thinking, it means that one doesn't have to raid 3-4 times a week at 3-4 hours per raid to get somewhere. That would be awesome! And can't forget about the change in the loot system, seems like they made it more balanced and fair. I hated raiding a ton of hours and never getting gear...it almost always went to the more senior raiders, half of which used the gear for off-spec when I could have used it for main-spec. Absolutely stupid...that's probably why my guild sucked, it was ran by idiots.

The "great" guilds were almost run entirely by Blizzard employees or a third party. They announced last year when the layoffs came that that particular program was ending.
