WoW subs go down every time an expansion is nearing EOL, and once the new expansion comes out, most everyone will come back, at least to try. It might even bring people who haven't played in years, due to the boost to 90 letting them get right back in to new content, instead of having to go through outdated content just to get to the new stuff. There is absolutely nothing that hasn't happened in the past happening here.

Yes, free boost to level 90 for one character, so new and returning players can play with their friends/family. You forgot to mention that people who boost to 90 get a starting zone experience like Death Knights did in Wrath. And if someone can't learn their class in the 10 levels from 90-100, then I doubt the faceroll 1-90 leveling would've helped them much.

I don't think they will be able to get back to 12 million subscribers but they maybe able to float around 7-8 till everybody plows through this expansion.
2-3 year grind? What are you talking about? Do you mean because they have a level cap each expansion? It does not take 2-3 years to get to 90.
