Werd, will take a look at the specs of my mobo then report back although it seems unlikely as cheaper mobos have used 16x.

And yeah, Of course it is in the top PCI-E port I wouldn't overlook that

well liek that guy said before.. and folowing that.. my opinion.. the cards aren't new new new on the market, and the speeds probably can't hang with full 8x anyway (and the company probably knew this) aaaaaaaand it's maybe easier to build SLi dual 8x back then?? i dunno just opinion. i don't work for nvidia or nothing =)

According to GIGABYTE my mobo does undeed run at PCI-E 16x

& SLi won't be running again till I've order a new PSU coz the current aint powerful enough

(it showed the exact same thing when I had dual cards)

Yeah yeah I get you don't worry, but flashing the BIOS will msot definetly be my last resort. The system is more my dad's than mine and I don't fancy ****ing up the hardware he payed for.

Really what I was hoping for is that there would be others who have experienced the same problem as there is nothing extreme about my setup hardware and software?

I know how to clear a CMOS...

But flashing the BIOS I had heard it can **** things up if you go wrong? And also once you put a later BIOS on you can't go back only up again?
