Almost every motherboard only supports PCIe-x8 in SLI mode. This is one of the reasons the Asus A8N32-SLI is one of the best 939 boards, it supports dual-x16.

Yeah, I aint running in SLI mode...

Atm I only have one card in and the motherboard has been set to normal mode on the board itself & in the BIOS, also disabled @ the NVIDIA drivers...
