Whoever decided their new flagship GPU should come with 3GB should be fired.
This whole GTX Titan, then GTX 780, then 290X and now the GTX 780 Ti has played out like a bad soap opera. Seriously done my head in and I've lost intrest badly. When the nonsense is over I'll pick up another GTX Titan at $650 since that's all they are worth now and run that until the next generation of GPUs. Hopefully then things have calmed down and hopefully they discontinue the GTX Titan now the GTX 780 Ti is out. Thing hasn't been worth it's price tag for a long time.
The GTX 780 Ti will be a beast GPU though. Hopefully they allow non reference designs with more VRAM for those interested. Keen to see a clock for clock comparison at 1202mhz against other GK110s.
Whether real or imagined, that 3GB was one leg of the table giving me doubt. Perception wise, my brain see's it as going backwards. Another leg of the table is the 290X and price. I could almost get (3) 290X for the same price as (2) 780TI. And with Water (damn near required for any CF 290X, damn heat,
), the scaling on the 290X looked rediculous in CF.
And this brings me back to my prior problem with NVidia releasing no credible information on the cards AT ALL prior to launch. There..Nvidia I know someone else will buy your card tonight, but I might also have bought right away if I had any info to go on. Both companies marketing sux imo.
