I'm with this guy. biggrin.gif  On my computer, I can start launching programs as soon as the desktop appears, and they load almost immediately.  My system boots from a WD10EZEX 7200 RPM HDD.  However, I have well optimized and defragmented it, and I have no antivirus/antimalware software whatsoever installed (the computer is not connected to the Internet).  It system boots Windows 7 to the desktop in 8.9 seconds, and on a fresh boot, there are about 28 processes running.

Home, yeah I have to wait. Ideally I have task scheduler set to open up Firefox during startup. At work my office desktop and laptop use SSD. Everything just opens up as soon as I get to the desktop. Really love that about SSDs.
