If cash is no issue for you, then of course, two loops looks and performs better.

The only time dual loop makes sense is when you need to separate the cpu load from gpu load, as in folding, or mining. For ex. when doing gpu mining and you don't want to run the cpu thru the same loop, etc. Otherwise its generally a waste and lower performing because you've split the amount of surface area available to the loop therein reducing max possible efficiency overall. It's also more expensive and complicated, and is really silly with a small loop.

290x is 286 watts stock ..... add 20% for overclocked = 343

4770k at 4.7 / 1.35v (lucky you) is 132 watts

MoBo Chipset say 30

MoBo VRM say 30

Pump say 18 watts

Total 896 watts

ya getting about 260 watts out of ya existing rad at 1800 rpm according to martins, say 320 in push pull @ 10C

Adding a 240 would add say 210 more and get you to 530 watts or about 59% of the theoretical goal at 10C. Of course, everything else in ya PC radiates heat so ya rad doesn't do everything. I'm shooting for 80% on my build....I have two rads in at present....adding the 2nd GFX card will require a 3rd to get me to 82%.

Ok so looks like I am going to need a lot more space based on all the post...

If I pull the drive cage out I believe I can fit a monsta 240mm radiator in... (Still need to do more measuring)

Do you all believe that will be enough to handle everything?

Also welcome to ideas to mod the case to fit another radiator in there smile.gif

A monsta is a really good rad, but seeing how compact your case is, I guess only you would really know how well it would fit, including the fans, i.e.

I am more wondering if the monsta 240mm + xspc ax 360mm will be enough to cool the 4770k + 2 * 290x

290x runs pretty dam hot on air (Uber mode), so adding another 120mm rad would surely help.

Rad thickness is not a big factor though it improves some with higher rpms..... if ya have a choice between ouch / pull and a thicker rad, do the fans

XT45 @ 1400 rpm gets rid of 204 watts with one fan and 247 with 2

UT60 @ 1400 rpm gets rid of 210 watts with one fan and 254 with 2

Monsta 80 @ 1400 rpm gets rid of 223 watts with one fan and 270 with 2

So with some modding to case I will be able to fit a monsta 360mm with push pull and keep the xspc ax 360 push pull.

Will this be enough to handle everything or am I going to have to break down and externally mount a radiator?
