I'm not saying other games didn't (Battlefield, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, etc. obviously did) but I'm using Valve as the example just because they've sort of set a "standard" for digital distribution. I'm not even bringing Origin into the equation; pfffft we can pretty much all safely assume that the majority of PC gamers have Origin for Battlefield and only Battlefield. MS need to just partner up and work with Valve to make Xbox One ports successful, and perhaps even with cross-platform play. Don't force any more of this Windows Live type crap on gamers; use the somewhat
universal standard that's already in place! (Steam).
Has Microsoft ever done anything to inhibit Steam on Windows?
And Valve is NOT a universal standard. It's a competing company, just like any other company. Blind Steam fanboyism is not good for anyone.
Hence why I specifically chose to use the word somewhat
in my post, knowing someone very nitpicky would say something about that comment. Among gamers, yes, it's pretty much the standard in digital game distribution. Gotta love when some typical internet member lashes out the fanboy word. I honestly haven't even played a Valve game since.... well... probably since before
BF3 released. 2+ years? Yea... quite the Valve fanboy I am... Edited by Stealth Pyros - 11/7/13 at 11:51am
