Can you game with 3 monitors on nvidia if one is 1440 and the others are 1080?

I know I would have to set the 1440 monitor down to 1080, but would it let me? Someone told me that with nvidia, your monitors had to have the same native resolution, so even though it's the same aspect ratio and can run at the same resolution, it still wouldn't work. But that just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

What I really want is to be able to switch between 1440 gaming and 3 monitor 1080 gaming.

I will be running a GTX 780 or 780 TI, don't know which yet (and I know that with a single card, three monitors will be slowish on newer games, hence wanting to be able to do 1440 sometimes).

I once got it to work with a 1080, a 900 and a 720. That actually forced a vertical 1024 but it still looked terrible.
Much later I tried two 1080s and 1440p and it just didn't work out. If i were you I would try it out with a friend's before buying anything.

I don't have any friends with one 1440 monitor, let alone that and two 1080s lol. That's why I wanted to see here if it would work.

I didn't realize it would be such a weird thing. I assumed if I set the middle one to 1080 it would just treat it like any other screen frown.gif
