EVGA announced GTX 780 Ti CLASSIFIED! - Page 92

Well I'm still waiting on the hydro coppers. Long story short, I'm already doing so many mods that I didn't want to put the video water blocks on myself, and I'll be happy with the swiftech performance. But there's been NO word about them at all. Jacob, can you tell us anything at all????? I contacted evga customer support and they said "we havent heard anything."

At this point I feel like I've wasted my time at the very least. Because I feel like either A) I'll wait even longer and they won't even come out, or B) if I get two standard classies and put EK blocks on them, then the hydros will come out, and I will be pissed for spending more money and effort on video than I wanted to. I just want to know so I can move on with my life. I've seen a lot more people than I would've thought on other forums who are also waiting on the hydros. You guys are losing our faith, and all our money!

I don't know what to doooooo! confused.gif I JUST WANT MY NEW BEAST PC TO PLAY GAMES ON sad-smiley-002.gif

If it helps, the delay was probably because of Swiftech's reveal at CES of their new waterblock designs so it should not take much longer now for the hydrocopper.

What's one more mod? Takes me 15 mins from removing the stock cooler to putting on my ek block.

Fair enough smile.gif

Well I had a few reasons:
1. Already spent a lot of time modding my case/parts. I mean we're talking drills and threat taps and custom screws etc. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, I'm actually having a lot of fun and it's going smoothly so far, but I just didn't want to do the video water blocks.

Maybe you guys can enlighten me on my other reasons...

2. I expect the hydro to be a little cheaper than the classy+ek blocks, right? I'd rather go with the cheaper option, especially since I already know I'll be happy with the performance. I don't think the ek blocks cool so much better that I'm ready to spend the extra on them.

3. Won't taking off the acx and putting aftermarket blocks on void the warranty?? Admittedly I haven't looked this up, I just assume.

You guys tell me...am I being crazy? Probably a tiny bit, but still.

I do feel justified in being a little upset with evga though. TONS of questions on every other version (including kingpin) have been answered by evga reps on forums where they're active. But I couldn't find a single answer to any of the questions about the hydros...not so much as a "yea sorry guys, it's still in the works, we've just been a little busy with bios issues and demand etc." It's definitely possible that I just missed those responses but it would just be nice to know and I feel like a simple "hey, sorry, we're still working on it" would be more responsible and respectful of potential customers than just ignoring all the questions altogether.

Weird, email notification for your response came after BGKris' post....laaaaaag, haha.

All I saw was their new AIO. I didn't know they made any other significant changes.

I am anxiously awaiting the Hydro Copper's release (or at least some information regarding their release).

1) Fair enough, it's your money and time.

2) Unlikely. EK block + Regular classified will be cheaper if history is to go by.

3) Nope, you just need to put back the stock cooler for any RMA. Aftermarket cooling won't void the warranty.

Awesome, thanks for the info. thumb.gif

also keep in mind if history repeats itself with the 780ti classy hydrocoppers overclocking will be sub par due to swift techs poor vrm cooling.

That was proven false already. There is active VRM cooling on the 780 classified hydrocopper- better than the titan or 780 but not sure how it stacks against the EK blocks.
