R9 290 having problem with crossfire - Page 14

i have all sorts of problems with CFX. not sure where to start ruling things out. I have 3 XFX R9 290 that i unlocked, they all seem to scale okay until i look at phyics. i belive that is what is holding me. I don't know if it is my CPU or RAM. i've tried uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling the The AMD Catalyst™ 13.11 Beta9.4 Driver with no luck. i don't think it's the cards it has to be my set up. tomorrow i will be taking my cards to a buddy's house to see how they fair in his rig. but here are some screen shots of my benchmarks.

cpuz:

gpu-z:

msi afterburner:

here are a couple of screen shots from 3dmarks firestrike

Do you think I should stick these cards in my back up rig on a 2500k to see what they do? does a 2500k bottleneck two R9 290's?

and btw did you say 9.4 beta drivers or 9.2

9.4 drivers came out today
well i'm pretty sure that the problem is my Amd processor and that it is bottle-necking my rig. I went to the 3dmark web site and compared my scores and did a search for my processor and found that i'm in line with my processor and others out there with amd processors alike

hmm the new 9.4 drivers have seemed to improve my bf4 performance...

edit: well it looked like it at first then like 2 minutes later frames went back to the same as before:

bf4 ultra 4xmsaa 2560x1440:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
6873, 60000, 92, 199, 114.550

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
6541, 60000, 69, 152, 109.017

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
6342, 60000, 78, 132, 105.700

it seems to get progressively worse...

@iPDrop do you have Far Cry 3 that you could check out by any chance? Nobody in the 290/290X thread seems to have it to let me know how their cards run in that game.

FX 8350 was a HUGE bottleneck for just 2 cards for me, I can't imagine it with 3.

I have Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, but not the normal game. It does not like me forcing settings in Radeon Pro, but if I just stick to ingame settings it runs really well. Not sure if the regular game has a benchmark or not, but in game Blood Dragon is pretty smooth. Bleeding out my loop after installing waterblocks on my 290Xs so I can't fire it up and give you more details.

My performance is terrible... its making me deeply regret trading 780 SLI for these cards. Lowest possible settings I get around 70fps at 1080p, my GTX 580 can do that. One card, two cards, doesn't matter thats what I get. Its a stuttery mess too.

I only got bad stuttering when I was forcing v-sync from Radeon Pro. Like I said, I can't comment on the regular game, but I would imagine it would run similarly. Once I get my loop bled decently and I make sure everything is looking okay I'll fire it up. I can say this though, I was running 2560x1440 at Ultra settings and getting around the frame rate you are quoting for low settings at 1080p.

One thing I noticed, I have it vsyncing 1 frame, and at 120hz it runs at 70 but if I turn the monitor to 60hz it will only run at 45-50fps. I have re-installed windows multiple times, fresh with the drivers etc. with no improvement on this. I know the cards can do it, they run Crysis on max settings at like 200fps.
