Oh yeah, I agree I don't care for Overdrive either nor do I use it. I was just letting him know I did not have an issue seeing it in the 9.4 beta.

Now I do have a problem, I dont know if it is card related or game related, but I cant get through a round of BF4 on the map Zavod 311 without a crash and this error

I posted in this thread a few days ago that my BF4 performance wasnt too good. My performance is better now. Before when running afterburner my first 290 was usually at 100% usage and when it would spike down my second 290 would spike up. The second 290 usually was not being utilized.

I am not completely sure how it got fixed. It runs well now that I set my resolution in BF4 to 1440p @ 96 hz and had a small overclock (power +25, 1020 mhz) in MSI afterburner which was running. I think the small overclock in afterburner woke up my second 290. I previously did change all the EnableULPS to 0, it didnt help before though. Now my 290s are at full usage but still have sharp down spikes.

For reference, I have 2 R9 290s, i7 4770k OC @ 4.4, 1050W seagate PSU.

Playing BF4 at 1440p @ 96 hz, ultra, 4x, and I average 75-80 fps. Min fps 54, Max fps 101, usually in high 70s. I am using a QNIX QX2710 1440p monitor at 96 hz. I was hoping for averaging 100 fps with these cards but I am confident better drivers and tweaks will get me there eventually.

Thanks for all the help i have found in this thread and on this forum.

you still IMHO shouldnt be seeing as low as 54fps on ultra 4x at 100% Res scale, Is that with vsync on or off?
I have tried with vsync on and off. I didnt notice a difference in game play but I wasnt monitoring fps closely. By the way, I think i got my second GPU to wake up when i switch the game to 'fullscreen' in the video settings. Most people in this thread seem to recommend vsync off. What do you recommend and why?

crossfire is broken in windowed mode.

there is some kinda glitch in the current AMD drivers that causes serious performance (frame) loss in MANY games when using vsync, such games as Crysis3, BF4, BF3, Arma 3 etc.

Also, you are correct, when you run 3d apps in windowed mode it disables crossfire.

I recommend vsync off, frame pacing off, and using frame limiters with the games that support it.
