I'll try it tomorrow, just did a round on the same map and the game played just fine, it's pretty random to be honest, but next time it happens I'll enable the graph and record a video. smile.gif

what I did to stabilize my crossfire ( runs like single card smooth)

check power cables ( I had them connected wrong because seasonic makes weird cables)

if you had your second card later than the first, and when you set them up you swapped their places in pcie slots, revert back to original positions, meaning first card you had when installing driver in first slot, new one in second.

but mostly, I think the perfoverlay.drawgraph 1 will tell us what's going on.

Power cables are fine. Funny thing is, since that video I recorded last night, I haven't been able to reproduce it again. lachen.gif

If you don't have nVidia cards, destroy the nVidia drivers. ATi and nVidia drivers conflict and get into fist fights if they are both on one system.

Actually, they don't anymore.

You can totally leave Catalyst and Forceware both installed on the same OS and swap out to either brand of cards whenever you want, and either card will work perfectly.

Note: there'll be a couple of AMD apps that'll still start up if you install an nV card on a system that has AMD drivers, but these programs won't hurt anything. None of the nV apps will start up though unless you have an nV card in your system.

This is assuming you're on Vista or newer, of course, but ... isn't everyone nowadays?

The days of 'zomg you MUST annihilate the drivers from teh other brand of card!!!!' are long gone, along with Windows XP.

this is purely theoretical. in practice, I had issues with catalyst when swapping from 6000 series to 290series radeons, so I imagine, having nvidia drivers will hurt performance.

No. The difference is Architecture. Your 6000 series card has a totally different Architecture than the 290 so the drivers would not be compatible.

Nvidia drivers will not run if there is no card detected... Same with Ati. Other than a couple of apps for Ati like brettyJv said

I have 3 x 290 but one of them is connected via a pci riser (can't fit in my mid case otherwise)

Will this be ok to test with?

I mainly use them to mine

Here you go, it just happened again. I noticed I had a Youtube video paused by the way, but sometimes it happens without any video opened in background.

Notice it's not the CPU or the GPU specifically, it's both spiking at the same time, I don't know what's causing it, but it's not just me here, thread OP also has it and I know some other people with these very same issues.

Not to mention when there's intense action (Like the tank explosion in my video) the game may simply freeze for a few seconds..
