The video looks better directly from
IGN (youtube's quality washes it out) Very good, clean visuals. Even if you don't care for the game, it's a nice looking CryEngine Tech Demo tongue.gif

What you are referring to is what IGN feared on June 11, 2013

They've since played in August saying

After a hands-on with the latest build on the eve of Gamescom, however, I have good news: there's no need to worry about Ryse: Son of Rome. The combat has plenty of depth, and the AI is aggressive enough that you'll be challenged plenty. Oh, and QTEs are merely optional finishing moves, with the giant button prompt over a foe's head replaced by a subtle colored outline around the not-long-for-this-world bad guy that corresponds to the button you're supposed to press in order to nail the best execution.

The game could be an absolute BOMB, but it's shaped up over these last few months more than any other game I've seen. Usually games with shaky development histories never seem to break that stigma, though I'm somewhat hopeful for Ryse. It looks beautiful.

Just as long as it's not one long semi interactive cut-scene with graphics it's only asset like Tomb Raider.

EDIT: Damn, it won't even be rendered at 1920x1080. This engine will be wasted on the console, what a crying shame.
