Personally I wouldn't waste my time lapping it. If it was a Tuniq or Zalman I would definitely do it.

I think lapping is a simple enough process with enough potential to improve performance that anyone wanting to eek max OC out of their system should give it a try. Here's a decent tutorial:

1. got mine for 16 bucks (lol)
2. dropped my temps at least 7c from lapping both cpu, heatsink and pressure mounting it. I lso used a quiet 120mm fan
3. Worked better than my stock mounted scythe infinity & the same fan I had on the freezer.

a.k.a, mod it, and you should be a happy camper.
