I have burnt out This adapter

This one

And this one

I want to get something more permanent and I'm willing to get something much more expensive. I don't mind if it is external either.

Well that's all I can see it being caused by. I always have my machine on and seeding. The temperature is not high inside the case. Three cards that can no longer stay connected to a network for more than a couple minutes.

What PSU do you have? Also what CPU?

I'm using a Linksys AE2500 which practically stays on 24/7/365 on my rig. I seed a lot too. Have never had a problem with it dying on me.

Can you switch to a wired connection? Ethernet or power line ethernet might work better.

Edit:
Wonder if you could switch to a second router instead of a WiFi adapter. Doesn't seem like you are burning out routers. Might be able to set one up like a wireless adapter. Maybe check out if Tomato or DD-WRT firmware supports that.

Edit 2:
Checked the settings on my E3000 running Tomato firmware. Looks like it can be setup like a WiFi adapter. Let me know if you want me to check if it will work as a wireless adapter.

No amount of use should burn out a NIC in a short period of time. I would investigate the possibility of a a PSU, motherboard, or heat issue.

Anyway, in my experience, the best wireless NICs are mini-PCIe notebook parts. Many desktop NICs use these simply by having them mounted in a mini-PCIe to PCIe adapter card.
