Hello all!
This is my spec:

Motherboard: GA-X58-USB3 (http://it.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-x58-usb3rev_10)
Video card: HD5870
Processor: i7950 3.07ghz
RAM: 12GB Corsair Dominance

I wanna upgrade my video card, i see the new Sapphire Toxic R9 280X 340€ (http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?pid=2023).
This video-card can bottleneck my hardware? it is worth buying it?

7970ghz is a 280x its just a rebadge

My personal opinion would be to grab 2 7970's since they are cheap or even used cards if you can find the right person

Just get a Radeon R9 280X since they cost the same as a regular HD 7970 right now but perform better.

I'm sick of people thinking this, it's within 1FPS of one another generally as the 280x's sometimes come lower clocked/vice versa.

@OP Get a pair of 7970's new with the game coupons if you can, if you prefer to just have the newer cards with no benefit then go for that I guess. But it doesn't really make sense does it?

That or used 7970's/7950's are a bargain right now.

EDIT: To add though, the card you're talking about (The Sapphire Toxic) is one awesome card if you do end up going for the 280x, but it still makes no sense though seeing as the exact same thing can be had for cheaper and even with free games in some cases.

Are there any gold 280x yet? I haven't seen any bench results of interest from the 280s.
