PowerColor 7870 MYST Overkill for 1440x900?

Thread Starter
As the title suggests, is the 7870 MYST overkill for 1440x900 res? I don't have a great monitor at the moment but will more than likely upgrade sometime in the coming months to something higher.

For the time being though, if I can get a good deal on the video card, how much if an overkill is it?

I'd say it would do ~90fps on the latest games no problems at everything high. I run my single 7850 on 1024p screen and even that is overkill by a long shot while playing at that resolution. I have played almost all the latest tiltles in the current year at uber settings without comming accross any performance issues. But as the people of old have foretold, on OCN, nothing is overkill biggrin.gif

Good to hear and thanks for the input. I suppose the worst case scenario is that I can push even higher settings and pump up the AA.

What res is that 18.5" acer that you have Pontiac? Curious how your 7870 performs with games.

1360x768 but this resolution is more cpu dependant, and Im bottleneck 12% in GPU with games like Metro 2033, Crysis, AVP3,etc

So with 1440x900 instead and a 3570K there should be much less of a bottleneck.
