OC stablitiy help phenom II 1055T - Page 2

I had this exact CPU+Cooler+MoBo combo till a few weeks ago and all I can say is be very careful. You can't even post above 260 FSB and have no LLC.

I got a 250x14 stable, like you, but my system quickly deteriorated. After running perfectly for 1 year on stock I slowly needed more and more vcore to remain stable, then cpu-nb voltage, my RAM slots went a bit funny - could just have been bad luck, but it got so bad that after 1 month I couldn't put much load across the CPU or it'd have major problems the moment the load was removed (usually a sudden restart/BSOD).

I now have a much better board (M5a99FX Pro R2.0) and have 285*13.5 comfortably stable. With my old board 260*14 was horribly unstable even pushing 1.5+ volts through it.

Run memtest86 and check if the ram is the problem. When I was oc'ing my 1045T I had to set tRFC to 300ns and raise voltage from 1,5 to 1,59V in order to POST and have ram stable. In my case 300mhz HTT caused ram instability (5,33multi = 1600mhz)

I'm running an occt stress atm. Going to see what happens. But I will consider your suggestions. The reason I think my ram is ok would be because I passed intel burn test on high for 50 runs. Which is pretty ram intensive. (if I'm not mistaken). I think running memtest would be a good idea.

I believe it. This mobo/cpu is getting old as well. I am definitely trying to upgrade in the next 6 months. This is a fun learning project really. (sometimes not fun lol)

Fun, but expensive! I'd say don't run this on anything but stock until you can fund a new mobo quickly (being without a computer isn't fun) - or you could, but any sign of instability and immediately revert to stock, no pushing it "just a bit further". I did, and it wasn't pleasant to say the least.

Hi guys this is my currently stable build, it might help OP, but frankly I'm very green. That said, I'm looking at upping my overclock. I posted this in air cooling earlier and was told to check out this subsection and I happen to have the 1055t as well. Rather than starting my own thread I was hoping you guys might be able to shed some light on my scenario. So, not too long ago I was looking at overclocking with a stock cooler, but the numbers weren't good so I ordered the Hyper 212 plus and now my machine is running great. I got my cooler and easily got my cpu to a cool 3.5 ghz. That heatsink is amazing. I have quite a bit of wiggle room however, and heard I can bump my fsb to 288 and get 4032 out of an air cool overclock. This being my first overclock however, I have run into a complication that I don"t quite understand, at least not fully. Upon upping the fsb to 288 my reboot results in an overclock failed message. I assume its due to a setting with memory or something similar but I really don't even know where to look since asus's bios refuses to use familiar terms from the forums. At any rate, here are some screens from cpu-z, and even my bios. How can I better optimize this overclock? I see that the OPs post has adjusted his ht and ram. How much should I adjust mine with a fsb at 288? Any help would be appreciated. Here are my specs for quick reference.

Amd Phenom II 6x 1055t 2.8ghz cpu
Asus M4A785TD-EVO mother board
4gb DDR3 SDRAM 1600 for the ram
