But yeah, by all means, ignore the facts and make your "funny".

I bet you think that Martin is in the bag for nVidia too? rolleyes.gif

What are we even arguing over here anymore? How loud 58db is? How loud the graphics card is? How noticeable the change is from 30-58? I'm confused.

Consider that an increase of 10 dB is roughly the same as doubling the perceived volume.

There seems to be multiple arguments going on here at once. The difference between 30db and 58db being one. The opinion that 58db is "acceptable" in your computer. If a water cooled computer will actually reduce the amount of heat in your room as opposed to air cooling. Etc, etc.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of it all. I've given up days ago trying to convince anyone to buy anything. I'm just going around trying to dispel the logical and factual errors people keep repeating. Even in that, I am honestly getting tired of doing that.

Well hell, the card will make it up to 58db I'm sure, but not at sitting distance. At 3cm, yeah. And that IIRC is what they standardly test at. Also, the difference is like you say, 4 times as loud for 30-60.

Everything you say is accurate, but just to nitpick, heat != wattage. heat is energy, wattage is power, which is energy/second. Very important difference smile.gif

You are, of course, correct. I was just trying to type stuff out in shorthand to respond quickly so people could understand the broad concepts.

It doesn't technically lower it, but more of substitute for regular heating.

meh, throw some water on it and call it a day. thumb.gif
I want to know how each card will compare when running benchmarks and games, not DB levels, not stock "coolers" and not in a looks competition.
But thats just my 2cents.gif
