Did you happen to find any workarounds for the floppy keyboard tray by chance? After a year of use, our R3v's were "downgraded" to book reading setups (well, they'll be VR rigs, and for me a racing rig when we get the second rigs each up and running, but still) because man that keyboard tray is pretty bad. I was lucky, mine was the new design, but hubby's was still the old one.

That's kind of what's keeping me on the edge of swapping over to the RSeat N1..... I could also make my setup a racing and/or flight sim (well, probably just Elite:Dangerous) rig... Rseat's setups are definitely oriented towards racing, and racing only.

AE86 is awesome problem is it was a budget car in 90s, starting 2000s it has turned into an expensive rare veteran that most often is rusted to hell. Sure if you are in Japan you could still find some or get one kept well or one already made for racing and derusted just a bit abused. But in Europe they are rare and expensive in bad shapes. Maybe US is more lucky.

I would take the new 2016 Miata these days. Or find an S2000 but those are probably bloody expensive and rare.
Same happened to decent E30s, and any other older decent car even almost new ones sometimes that aren't sold anymore, their prices skyrocket as people make them popular and highly sought after.

Reason? Car makers these days flood the market with big heavy FWDs that suck when it comes to maintenance and any enjoyment of driving.

I've had my favorite AE86 design, you know what lights and all those details, dreamed up biggrin.gif

No idea what you're talking about with keyboard tray lol. No issues. The right side sits on top of the shifter plate and goes no where. Completely flat, no flex.

Yeah, when Initial D came out prices quickly went out of control on the AE86.... What I found really hilarious though was that shortly after, the AE92's prices went through the roof as well. Hilarious because so many thought they were the same and, nope.... AE92 is front wheel drive. It's a fun to drive front wheel drive, but still has that kind of transmission.

I have no idea how things are for the car in the US myself, because I haven't visited that country for 12 years, nor do I hang out on DoriKaze any more.

A 2016 Miata... Ahhhh, if only they improved the foot room.... Any time I sit in it my thighs are about half an inch away from the steering wheel, and that's with the seat all the way back. Then again, I knew back in 1998 that I wouldn't fit in one, darn long legs.

I actually never thought to try doing that. When it's free floating man does it ever bounce a good amount.

Well, I have not seen a car yet that would be made for people taller than 180cm, car makers just don't care and make it for tiny Asians instead. Even though cars are getting larger on the outside room inside and the seats are all small. I guess take the front seat out and sit on the back seat? biggrin.gif

Some AE92s had 4AGE engine so they would just buy it for that.

To me it doesn't matter really much as long as it's a 50/50 balance RWD with a 7k+ rpm engine and light weight, but those simple criteria rule out 99% of vehicles being made. I liked the 4x4 rally Corolla so I just look around the history etc. and found that there was AE86. Of course later when I found out there is the anime, movies, what ever and it's popular I knew it's a game over for that car being a budget one ever again. These days it's either an expensive kept/restored one or a worthless rust bucket. Even stock new the car is awful lachen.gif But the beauty of it was that it was cheap back then, parts available widely at least in Japan etc. not in EU, so anyone could pick it up, mod it and because of it's characteristics and a decent fun engine it was a nice fun entry car.
Later came the various BMW E30 and newer at least in EU but they are expensive, heavy, need to swap engines, they rust too and balance IMHO is not 50/50.

The golden times of simple easy to maintain cars are over. Now they spit out FWDs one after another like bread, universal parts, universal platforms, one worse than the other when it comes to driving fun.

The cost and need for profit has made RWD an exclusivity. FWDs are also safer/easier to drive for the general population, but I can't stand FWDs.

it moves without it but i don't use the keyboard unless I'm playing something else...but it's always on the shifter plate over my lap.

Anyone got an idea why I'm not allowed to post nor create a thread in any of the modding subsections on AC forum? Yet another bug? I've had like 1 new bug a day but I thought those days are over. Even alerts doesn't show a single entry. Did they mess up the forum? Or do I have to contact Kunos to unban me from a subsection of the forum for unknown reason? Weird.

Yes. A couple of days ago they said they are closing down that section because too many people were putting rips (which is illegal) on there.

Yesterday, Racedepartment opened a forum for AC modding.

Oh, ok, good to know. Well they have in the terms etc. that you cannot post unoriginal content there and any suspected such will be removed/dealt with accordingly.
I don't even go there almost so I'm like WHAT? Some mod was trigger happy and didn't like me talking in the Caterham thread or what has happened here...

Not a fan of RD but it's a decent place to download I guess it's where the modding discussion will move to now.
OCed my iGPU, reduced all details to minimum and disabled ReShade, am getting about 60fps driveable, not ideal but at least I can test the Caterham, bored of waiting for GPU to go through RMA.

Thanks andrew.

I bet people couldn't help themselves and ripped content from other games and then released that pile of poo for AC. Which may not be always obvious but sometimes the models are so bad in other games you will notice from what game that rip is.
