It feels like a boat in the corners because it weighs 1630kg, which for the type of car that it is, is very light, but it's still a heavy car. For comparison, your average modern family car that's made of steel instead of carbon fibre weighs 1400kg.

Why people voted for a GT car in a track only racing sim over the F50, 360 Challenge, 458 Challenge or Enzo is beyond me.

Indeed, I didn't realise it was down to a vote, haven't been playing AC for a few months, definitely would have preferred the F50 or 360 Challenge.

Yeah there was some very limited time voting thingy that 99.999% of people missed and didn't vote on. Plus it was I think for only 1 car not for all cars in the pack.

There was no track in the pack either right?
Ferraris are always boring at least to me.

Almost under 7min on Nord. T. with 330 P4. That thing has aero similar to Caterham, so much front lift and drag.

Yeah, no new circuit. And it was just a vote on the last car as far as I'm aware, which ended up being the SF70H. I'll just say that got a pretty healthy amount of backlash from certain communities. I personally don't mind it, but I'm not very interested in this pack, at least not compared to the last one.

There are now 4 Ferrari modern day F1 cars, why I do not know. So few people have the skill to drive these to the limit, let alone in a sim where I doubt it's even accurate for such beasts.
6 Ferrari F1 cars total. The 312T is great, how many drive it? Almost no one frown.gif

There are some odd cars I barely heard of and then probably good and popular ones missing. Might not be up to them the selection, who knows.
Data wise? The 330 P4 for example has static lift LUT, there are no angle changes... Some of the cars seem rushed or people making them uninterested. Models are fine, why not, that is the easy part get a scanner or photograph the car, spits out a 3D model that then gets polished to reduce poly count. Physics wise, typical Kunos IMHO, they put as much effort into it as they want, sometimes more sometimes less. Best thing? Day 0 launch, day 1 patch, every time, they couldn't wait one day to fix things before launch? wink.gif

---

Done. Just need to update to newest model and add an aero tweak for one version.

Too bad CM showroom has so much banding.

Caterham looking fantastic JackCY, is this going on Race Department or is it already there?

Agree with the 312t, great car but as you say, there's never a server running.

Maybe I should get my own server running again, haven't turned it on for a while.

Soon, Ben is on holiday, he will test it today probably. Will be on RD maybe before end of month, was the plan.

I'm not sure I can run a server for AC, how demanding is it? Old games were easy but knowing AC... will it eat half my CPU or something? How much bandwidth does it need?
LFS was easy, it even showed the necessary bandwidth when starting a server. AC it's a mess to run one own. I've managed a RackService I think it was server a while as one of admins but that costs money.
Very true with AC it's hard to find decent servers for almost anything except cruise aka what AC calls practice, often A-B track etc. for Nordschleife Tourist or drifting oriented tracks.
So far it seems people (fast, competitive) left for iRacing and rF2 because of way better league support, though rF2 is as dead as rF1 outside of doing league, there is VEC I learned a few days ago.

I can send you a prerelease link if you're interested, hit me in PM, there are going to be some fixes and changes probably by Ben but the download isn't big if you want to try it out, around 60MB. Mostly sent it to people I know have the driving skill to give at least some feedback in terms of how it drives.
The LHD has broken right mirror and wheel camera on Clamshell version I've updated today. Also testing the new v1.15 parameters that I don't use yet, so far it's rather making the car even more understeery because of rear traction grip and tyres even more unreadable, not completely sold on it until there are more examples of completely new redone tyres. Not a fan of the muddy endless gradual slip in AC overall but then I can't compare to a real sample and there are so many variables when it comes to grip from just environmental and technical conditions.

If there will be a new round of tyres in AC overall, redone for a new version and new samples are available then yes I will most likely redo the tyres to match what is in AC on other cars to keep it consistent.

Few days ago.

Laguna has been requested for ages, the rest not so interesting to me. Still no driver swapping etc.

One of the reasons I don't play AC more, no competition:

And lets see how much YT butchers the quality this time when using first person view. YT download lately seems funky, they take a bunch of data and wait wait wait then download some more, wait wait wait, is YT going downhill and downhill, any other better alternatives? I'm not sure how Vimeo fares nowadays for such content and ability to play 60fps at high quality.

Yeah, I remember people asking about Laguna Seca. That should be fun, but I agree that the rest is going to be "fiddle around for a bit and probably not touch it again" stuff for me. But hey, free content is free content.

Was that a public lobby? I'm a pretty mediocre driver (decent raw pace but quite garbage consistency) and I'm having a lot of fun with the Race Department club races. They're really casual, but everyone still takes it seriously, and their league races are really competitive with points systems and all that.
