I can barely launch the car alligned with both traction control and stability control off. With traction control off and stability control on 50% is pretty much the best way for me using a controller. Factory traction control with no stability control seems ok too.

You're not supposed to just go 100% on the throttle and expect it to grip...

Yeah I am aware of that but it is hard to estimate the proper acceleration level when using a controller. I dont have pedals.

Pedals give you the same feedback as a controller. Unless you go for those pedals that are $300+

Not the case at all, especially with the brake pedal. Even cheap pedals are preferable to a controller because of the much larger travel range which makes it a lot easier to judge inputs. Add a load cell to the equation and it makes a massive difference to immersion and your consistency.

The feedback with pedals (unless you get something like the Fanatec CSR Elite pedals or better or that $120 load cell mod for the G27) is non-existent. You do have more travel, yes, but it will take the same amount of time to get used to it as it would take for you to get used to the travel on the triggers of a Xbox 360 or PS3 controller.

If they release an update that has native Xbox One controller support, they can add better brake feedback with the built-in rubble motors under the triggers.

I remapped throttle to the right joystick (from center being not on, and up being fully on) on my Dualshock3 controller and have little to no issues with launching. By remap I mean using Better DS3 to consider that travel the same as using R2. Why? It's not only what I'm used to, but I can't use L2/R2 for brakes and throttle due to the rare form of RSI in my wrists (basically, it's insanely painful to do such after only a short while). Not as accurate, but I'm getting a proper wheel and pedals sometime this year and I don't go into online modes, so I'm happy enough with what I've got. I'll probably get a Dualshock4 as a stopgap though, simply because they're comfier to hold.

Same here, but I turn on the auto clutch, as I'm still on a controller. I really wish I had the desk space/enough money to throw around to get a G27. I honestly don't think it's worth the investment based on how much I would use it, but I feel like it would make for a really good experience.

I haven't used mine for more than 2 months thanks to this heat.
