the direction issue is fairly common on several coolers out there when using AMD mb's ... personally, i don't think it will matter all that much if you have good exhaust. i can shut my case intake and exhaust fans off and my cpu temps don't climb ... mostly due to my case being very well ventilated (armor full twr).

also, using the stock infinity mounting system (push/pins) ... at least on intel mb's won't give you as good of performance as modding the mounting system will. i can't believe scythe made such a fantastic cooler but basically sabotaged it with their mounting system.

man. i wish i had your communication skills cause they just told me yesterday via email that it would cost me *$12.00*, plus shipping.

(funny)

seems i'm even worse at making requests than ENZ...

12.00!! ... i'm going to go ahead and order them cause i can't find anything, short of really thin electrical wire, that will fit that configuration...

Wouldn't it be better to have both fans on east/west, both blowing straight into the heatpipes? Blowing into the U-shape on north/south doesn't seem as efficient.

i've read on other review sites that mounting on the more narrow sides results in slightly poorer performance. i believe the cooler is indeed capable of incorporating a fan on any of it's four sides.

i think the majority of the heat dissipation, at least that which is enhanced by a flow of air, is conducted off of the fins moreso than the pipes ...

i see your reasoning, yet i think the pipes are more important for transferring heat to the much greater surface area of the fin assembly, where heat is dissipated rather quickly due to that same much greater surface area ...

think about it this way ... relative to the fins, the pipes are quite thick and dense, much of the heat is held within the core of those pipes ... inaccessible to the dissipation action of the air flowing over the pipes surface; the fins, however, are long, wide, very flat and not dense at all ... so, once reaching the fins, the majority of heat is promoted along the length and width of the fin ... but there is no real center or core relative to what you could call the surface of the fins and therefore a much higher degree of heat is actually removed from the fins ....

damn that was confusing.

I'm assuming if you say, "Mine is broken/bent" they will send you one.

If you say, "I need another one for my dual fan setup that's out of spec with your warranty" they will charge you.

just a guess.

you know, is this company china based? my girlfriend speaks mandarin....hmm...maybe i could get her to cut a deal...haha...

Has anyone tried this monster on the Infinity?

Im thinking a couple of these in a push/push config running off 5v might do well.

that's a sick-6ss fan ... monster for sure ... would be great for max air overclocks and benching ... don't know about for low volt, silent use ... but might do well with a fan controller.

i was originally going to use these tri blades from delta but they were too thick for my MB (38mm): http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=20850

the main thing i've noticed with the dual fan set up is that you get really good cooling with very low noise ... the high speed settings have only been a degree or two difference from the single fan. but the noise factor is way better with two fans ...

get the fans though and do some tests; would be fun to see how they work...

there are fans that generate 220cfm. They are very good for benching, but I would eventually bleed out of my ears if I had to put up with that kind of noise 24/7. Also, you might want to ask around on how those fans undervolt. Sometimes they are loud no matter what.
