I checked the surface of the block with a straight edge and it's slightly convex ! Do you think I could try lapping it ?

NO!! I am sure that will void the warranty and is not your cause of high temps. As mentioned earlier it sounds like you have a bad pump. Call Corsair Monday and RMA the unit.

Another update - last night I took the cooper block off an reattached it I took the H60 off this morning and re-installed the H100i now been running the last half hour and idling at 26 all round !! Could the block have been attached incorrectly ?? Least it's working now and thanks for all your help

Glad you got it solved and didn't have to go through RMA!

That's why I wanted to you to reseat the block smile.gif
Most of the time that's the problem, misaligned block or thermal paste.
