How to Overclock 4820k CPU

Thread Starter
Hey guys, first of all I hope I'm in the right thread for this, but I recently built my first computer, although I got all parts that I feel are substantially good enough for current generation video games, I still would like to learn how to overclock should the time arise for me to up the power on my computer. I've done my research, but i'm still extremely confused on how to go about overclocking my cpu. I would much appreciate it if you guys could help me through the process and any tips you might have.

My specs:
Corsair 550d case
Asus p9x79 LE Motherboard
Intel Core i7-4820K Ivy Bridge-E 3.7GHz (Turbo 3.9)
Corsair H80i watercooler
32gb ddr3 vengence ram
ATI radeon 7870 2GB GPU
4 TB hard drive
240gb SSD
Windows 7 Professional x64
650w powersupply

Need any more info and I'll let you guys know. Thanks again for the help. biggrin.gif

up untill 4.5 you really only need to change Vcore and LLC. probably downclock your RAM.

for me, 4.5GHz is rock solid at 1.2 Vcore and LLC at high
