Changing the PSU's fan, what to do with the power cable?

Thread Starter
I dont know how many ppl that do this but when u remove the stock fan it has a 2pin cable...
My question is: is it important to conect the new fan to the PCB of the PSU or can u connect the new fan to the motherboard / 12v

You can connect the PSU fan to the mobo. Only problem is you'll loose fan regulation from PSU circuitry (when it's present). But then you can regulate the fan from the mobo via software, or via a fan controller. Or simply live with it always running full rpm @ 12V.
